Operation Iraqi Freedom Defender Pics

Back in March 2003, just the before the war in Iraq kicked off, I was tasked to go out photograph all the different types of British military vehicles.  I was a U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence Officer working for Marine Aircraft Group 39 in the Intelligence section in Kuwait.  The reason for all the photographs was so that we could brief the American pilots on what the British vehicles looked like so we could avoid any friendly fire incidents.  Below are just a few of the hundreds of photos that I took.  All of the photos below are Copyrighted, so please contact me at jonathan.m.george@gmail.com if you wish to use any of them in any form.

Looks like a comfy ride!

Screw taping off the wheels, just paint everything!

The panel on the right side of the door is an infrared panel that pilots can see to differentiate them from the enemy.

Almost looks like a safari......in Kuwait
