Installing Rock Sliders

I have pretty good fabricating skills, but when it came to the time/cost of building rock sliders, I decided to bite the bullet and buy some.  The sliders I decided on were from Atlantic British and cost $330.  My initial impression of them was that I got what I paid for.  They were poorly made, were about 1 1/2" too short, some of the mounting holes were not tapped properly, and they supplied me with hardware that was too long.  It was late on Friday, so I decided to try and mount them anyway.

I had already removed the original steps.

Here is the slider and the rear mounting bar.

The bar that mounts to the rear outrigger was well made and was even galvanized.

The first step was to remove the sills.  It's pretty easy, just lots of bolts.

The rear mount just slides in the outrigger and gets secured with a long bolt on the inside of the frame.

Then the slider just mounts to the front outrigger and the rear galvanized mount.  The bottom of each fender flare then bolts to the slider.

And here is the final install.  These sliders included the common holes for jacking points.
