Installing Rear Corner Protectors

I found these rear corner protectors on Ebay a while back.  I am not sure who makes them, but they are pretty stout.  I like these because  they only required a few mods to be able to retain the original rear bumper.  Now, on this project I forgot to take pictures along the way, so all I have are the after shots.

Here is the left one installed.  I had to trim a little of the body sheet metal.  You can see that I didn't cut all the way to the wheelwell.

Here is the right side.  They bolt on using the two stock mounting holes on the rear crossmember.

The stock soft top tire carrier bottom pivot has a tab that extends down and bolts on top of the bumper.  This tab needs to be cut off and moved outward to accommodate the thickness of the corner protector mounting plate.

Here is the new tire carrier pivot bracket with the extended tab.

Using these corners allowed me to retain the stock bumper and spare tire carrier.  The rear bumper still bolts in the stock location, and I only need to drill new holes where it mounts to the gas tank skid plate.  I also like these because they match the lines of the rock sliders.
