Disassembly

Bob's rolling chassis came to my shop for a complete restoration.

These plates we added on as part of a hoist used to lift pumps.  These will be carefully cut off to save the frame.

Those yellow powder coated rims and new tires look great!

You never want to see this when you open the drain plug on the transmission and transfer case.  I bet about a half gallon of water came out, and very little gear oil.

The skid plate is always where decades worth of grease and dirt accumulates.  I would much rather see this muck than have everything rusted out.  This muck seems to preserve everything as well.

The tranny and t-case are out!

The heart of this 3A is now out and ready for a rebuild.

With the drivetrain out, the next step is to remove the axles and strip the frame down.

After stripping down the front axle I turned my attention to removing the front bumper.  Thankfully it was just held on by a few stubborn bolts.

Those rusty u-bolts are no match for the plasma cutter!
